According to reports, Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, is currently visiting various companies in Taiwan with the aim of preparing next-generation AM5 desktop platforms with USB4 support. It is believed that Asmedia, a Taiwanese company specializing in motherboard chipsets and USB controllers, hosted Su during her visit. This is a significant development as Asmedia is a market leader in implementing the latest USB4 technology and has received certification from the USB-IF Association.

Previous leaks have suggested that AMD and Asmedia are already collaborating on a separate project to bring Thunderbolt 4 support to future AMD platforms. The timing of Su's trip to Taiwan indicates that AM5 motherboards with USB4 support could be launched next year, alongside the "Zen 5" Ryzen 8000 CPU series. Additionally, current generation A620, B650, and X670 chipset-based boards may receive updates to incorporate the latest USB connectivity standard.
