First Look at Intel Arc Pro B70 GPU: Battlemage BMG-G31 Set for Imminent Launch
Intel is on the verge of unveiling its highly anticipated "Battlemage" BMG-G31 GPU, with the professional-grade Arc Pro B70 graphics card leading the charge. Recent leaks from VideoCardz have provided an early glimpse at the official renders of the Arc B70 GPU, showcasing Intel’s reference design. Unlike previous generations, this reference model will be available for purchase, not just as a concept render. In addition to Intel’s own offering, add-in board partners are expected to introduce custom designs, potentially including innovative configurations such as dual-die setups, reminiscent of MaxSun’s approach.
Arc Pro B70 and B65 Pro: Specifications and Features
The Arc Pro B70 is equipped with 32 Xe2 cores, 32 GB of ECC GDDR6 memory, and a 256-bit memory bus. The total graphics power (TGP) for this model ranges from 160 to 290 watts, with Intel’s reference design set at 230 watts. This robust configuration is aimed at demanding professional workloads, offering both performance and reliability.
Alongside the B70 Pro, Intel is also preparing to launch the Arc Pro B65. While it shares the same 32 GB ECC GDDR6 memory, the B65 Pro features 20 Xe2 cores, positioning it as a variant with increased VRAM compared to the B60 Pro. The B65 Pro is expected to have a peak TGP of 200 watts, making it a compelling option for users who require substantial memory bandwidth without the full core count of the B70 Pro.
Performance Improvements Over Previous Generations
Intel’s internal testing indicates significant performance gains with the new Arc Pro B70. Under SLA constraints, the B70 AI system demonstrated a 1.49x improvement in the geometric mean of tested workloads compared to the previous Arc Pro B60 (BMG-G21). At a fixed batch size, the performance uplift was measured at 1.13x. These enhancements highlight Intel’s commitment to advancing GPU performance for professional and AI-driven applications.
While the initial images provided by VideoCardz were upscaled and may exhibit some distortion, official renders and detailed product images are expected to be released soon. The Arc Pro B70 and B65 Pro are scheduled to launch on March 25, marking a significant step forward in Intel’s professional graphics portfolio.
