HYTE Issues Recall for THICC Q80 Trio AIO Liquid CPU Cooler Due to Coolant Leak Risk

HYTE has announced a recall of its THICC Q80 Trio AIO liquid CPU cooler, originally launched in January 2025, following the discovery of a manufacturing defect that can lead to coolant leaks. The issue came to light after customers reported coolant leakage upon delivery, prompting an internal investigation by HYTE and its original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Details of the Manufacturing Defect

According to HYTE, the root cause of the problem is a fragile internal component within the THICC Q80 Trio cooler. This component is vulnerable to damage during shipping, which can result in internal leaks that are not immediately visible to users. The company has not yet determined how many units are affected, so the recall applies to all THICC Q80 Trio coolers currently in use.

Importantly, HYTE clarified that this defect does not impact the THICC Q60 model, as it utilizes a different internal design.

Recall Instructions for THICC Q80 Trio Owners

HYTE is urging all users of the THICC Q80 Trio AIO liquid cooler to immediately uninstall the product from their systems. Customers who purchased the cooler directly from HYTE’s official website will receive a full refund, along with detailed instructions on how to safely dispose of the affected unit. Those who bought the cooler through authorized resellers will be contacted by the resellers regarding the next steps in the recall process.

Distributors and resellers have also been instructed to stop selling and distributing the THICC Q80 Trio with immediate effect.

HYTE’s Commitment to Customer Safety

HYTE has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this issue and is committed to resolving the situation for all affected customers. The company is working closely with its partners to ensure a smooth recall process and to maintain the trust and safety of its user community.
