The SSD features a baseplate that efficiently transfers heat to a cylindrical radiator, where two small 20 mm fans help keep the controller cool. Powered by the Silicon Motion SM2508 flagship controller on the TSMC 6 nm process, the drive offers capacities of up to 8 TB and boasts sequential transfer speeds of up to 14 GB/s reads and 12 GB/s writes.
For those who prefer a cooler-free option, ADATA also offers the MARS 970 Blade. While this version may not offer the same level of performance, it still delivers impressive sequential speeds of up to 12 GB/s reads and 10 GB/s writes. The MARS 970 Blade is available in capacities of up to 4 TB.
Turning to portable SSDs, the SR800 caught attention as a power bank SSD. This device features a USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 interface with transfer rates of up to 2000 MB/s reads and writes. Additionally, it includes a 5,000 mAh battery for charging your devices at 20 W (USB-PD) and a wireless charging surface that supports up to 15 W wireless power delivery. The SR800 is based on a Silicon Motion SM2320 controller and offers capacities of up to 4 TB.
The ADATA XPG SE940 stands out as the industry's smallest portable SSD with a USB4 interface. Utilizing the 40 Gbps USB4 connection, this SSD delivers sequential transfer speeds of up to 4 GB/s and comes in capacities of up to 8 TB. The SR820 is another compact portable SSD with a 20 Gbps USB 3.2 interface, offering transfer speeds of up to 2 GB/s, capacities of up to 4 TB, and an on-device fingerprint reader for enhanced security.
One of the highlights in ADATA's consumer storage lineup is the new SDXC SD 8.0 Express memory card. This SD card operates over PCIe, specifically PCIe 3.0 x2, to provide speeds comparable to CFexpress—up to 1600 MB/s reads and 1200 MB/s writes, making it suitable for tasks like 8K RAW recording.
