ASRock has presented its latest AMD Navi 48 GPUs at this year's CES trade event. The TechPowerUp team had the opportunity to explore the Taichi, Steel Legend, and Challenger options just hours ago. These new models come in Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 variants and are set to be released later this quarter along with RDNA 4 and FSR 4 technologies. ASRock's representatives were particularly excited to showcase their new flagship cog/gear-themed model.
The ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi features a long and chunky design with a triple-slot layout, following the tradition of previous Taichi designs. The custom shrouds and backplates have been updated for the RDNA 4 generation, giving the RX 9070 XT Taichi a more boxy appearance compared to its predecessor. The cog wheel graphics on the backplate stand out more with the updated color scheme. The card includes a triple-fan configuration with RGB lighting strips on the shroud. Performance and quiet modes can be adjusted using a rear jumper switch, while another switch near the 12-pin power connector controls the onboard LED lighting.
The newly unveiled Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend card shares its shroud design with ASRock's Intel Arc "Battlemage" B580 Steel Legend OC model. The AMD Radeon-based version features a white-themed design with a triple-fan cooling solution and RGB strip lighting on the shroud. The fans also have RGB lighting zones that can be controlled with a switch next to the power connectors. An ARGB header is also included.
ASRock also introduced the Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) Challenger, which features a more subdued design compared to the other models. This triple-fan card has a single RGB lighting strip on a black/gray shroud, hinting at a possible dual-slot design.
Additionally, a Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) Steel Legend model was displayed alongside its XT counterpart, while ASRock's custom blower design Radeon RX 7900 XTX Creator card, based on the Navi 31 GPU, was also showcased in the background.
